Graduation Cap and Gown Information

Caps and gowns will be delivered again on Thursday, April, 13, 2017 during SMART lunch. Herff Jones will also make regular visits to distribute caps and gowns until all are delivered. 

Senior Class Cap and Gown Photo will be taken on Thursday, May 25, 2017 during 1st period. Bring your cap and gown to school! 

Principal’s Choice: If you are interested in speaking at graduation, please write a 3-5 minute speech. Please submit this to Ms. Cater by May 1. The top five will be selected by May 15, and then will present their speech in front of a panel. The winner will be announced at Senior Awards night and will deliver the closing remarks at graduation. Requirements: Any student is eligible to write a speech. In order to be selected, you must be in good academic standing with no major conduct issues, and must possess public speaking skills. If you would like to submit your speech, please see Ms. Martin or Ms. Esposito (media center) for the Google Classroom access code to turn in. Speeches are due by midnight on May 1, 2017.

Graduation and Senior Awards Ceremony Expectations

Senior Awards Ceremony Tuesday, May 23, 2017 6 p.m.
● Attendance at the Senior Awards Ceremony is mandatory unless your absence is approved by Ms. Cater. 
● Attendance will be taken and you will not be able to participate in the Graduation Ceremony if you are absent.
● Dress Code will be enforced.
○ Men are required to wear dress slacks and closed toe shoes.
○ No denim may be worn.
○ Women can wear a dress or dress pants.
○ No flip flops are allowed.
○ Students will wear the graduation gowns, but are not required to wear graduation caps.
● The Senior Awards Ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm. You need to arrive no later than 5:30 pm.
● Follow the directions of administrators and teachers during the event.
● This is a special ceremony. Inappropriate behavior and/or comments will not be tolerated.
If you are addressed by administrator or School Resource Officer because of
inappropriate behavior, you will not be able to walk at graduation.

Graduation Ceremony Friday, June 9, 2017
● Graduation practice will take place on Friday, June 9 at 9:00 am.
● The Graduation Ceremony will begin at 8:00 pm in the stadium. You will need to arrive no later than 6:30 pm. Seniors will line up in the breezeway. 
● During the Graduation Ceremony, inappropriate behavior and/or comments will not be tolerated. If you display any inappropriate behavior or make any inappropriate comments, a police officer will ask you to leave and you will not receive a diploma.
● If we have inclement weather, a decision will be made by 5:00 pm to either have the Graduation Ceremony in the stadium or in the gym. If the Graduation Ceremony is moved to the gym, you will receive a small number of tickets for your family members.
Please make sure that your family members know now that your entire family may not be able to attend if the ceremony is in the gym.
● Dress Code will be enforced.
○ Men are required to wear dress slacks and closed toe shoes.

○ Women can wear a dress or dress pants.
○ No flip flops are allowed.
○ Caps may not be decorated.
○ Students may only wear cords and/or stoles that they have earned from clubs and/or organizations.
